Job Description:
We seek a skilled and detail-oriented Set Construction Coordinator / Builder to join our team for various exciting projects at our Atlanta film studio. The ideal candidate will supervise sets’ construction and physical integrity, as directed by the production designer and art director. This vital role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and a passion for film production.
Key Responsibilities:
– Supervise the fabrication of sets, ensuring they meet design specifications and safety standards.
– Collaborate closely with the production designer and art director to bring creative visions to life.
– Develop and manage budgets for set construction, ensuring efficient use of resources.
– Order and procure all necessary materials for set designs, coordinating delivery and inventory.
– Assess the skill sets needed for specific projects and hire carpenters and other builders as required.
– Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment on set.
– Troubleshoot and resolve any construction-related issues that may arise during production.
Qualifications:
– Proven experience in set construction or a related field, ideally within film or television production.
– Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
– Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design specifications.
– Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
