Job Description:
As a Prop Maker at Never Enough Productions, you will be responsible for constructing unique and specialized set props essential for our productions. These props may be too difficult to source or prohibitively expensive to purchase. You will build these required props from scratch using various materials, including styrofoam, plastics, electronics, metals, wood, and glass.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with the production team to understand prop requirements and creative concepts.
– Design and construct props from initial concept sketches to finished products.
– Utilize various machining, construction, and sculpting techniques to create high-quality, durable props.
– Source and select appropriate materials for each project, ensuring cost-effectiveness and feasibility.
– Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to all safety protocols.
– Participate in set dressing and installation of props as needed.
– Adapt and troubleshoot challenges that arise during the prop-making process.
Qualifications:
– Proven experience as a prop maker or in a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
– Proficiency in various construction and sculpting techniques.
– Familiarity with different materials, including Styrofoam, plastics, metals, and wood.
– Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
– Detail-oriented with excellent craftsmanship skills.
– Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
– Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience in theater, film, or television production.
– Knowledge of electronics for prop functionality.
– A degree or certification in a relevant field (e.g., Fine Arts, Theater Production, Industrial Design).
